Unusual layered metal oxides

Abstract

The physical properties of a compound are dependent on its structure, chemical components, and environment, among other factors. The compounds of the Sr2Mn3As2O2 structure type were studied because of their interesting structural features. The structure has two independent layers with different geometric sites and contains features that, in other compounds, are associated with superconductivity and low-dimensional magnetic and electronic properties. This paper discusses compounds of this structure type, the synthesis of new compounds and how to apply these compounds to the preparation of new materials with novel properties.
