Abstract

This Chapter describes the ultrasonography of the thoracic and lumbar spine and the pelvis. The indications for ultrasound and the methods for performing ultrasounds are detailed. Changes to the echogeneity, size and shape of the important structures in these areas are detailed, with particular emphasis on the supraspinous ligament, the dorsal sacro-iliac ligament and the ligaments of the pelvis.
