Abstract

Cometathesis of cycloolefins, 1, with linearα-alkenes, 2, using molybdenum pentachloride catalyst with a cocatalyst of tetramethyltin followed by hydroboration of the resulting α,ω-dienes 3 with 9-borabicyclo [3.3.1] nonane (9-BBN) and oxidation or carbonylation of the resulting boranes, 4, is a convenient route to Δ6-11 monoolefin derivatives.
