Abstract
Squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva typically is regarded as a disease of the elderly. This report describes a case of a superficially invasive squamous cell carcinoma in a 12-year-old girl. The adjacent epithelium contained squamous hyperplasia and vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia 3. Poor perineal hygiene may play a role in malignant transformation.
