Abstract
Squamous cell carcinoma of the stomach was diagnosed in 4 horses. The prominent clinical findings included anorexia, chronic weight loss, and anemia. Abdominal masses were identified on rectal examination of each horse, and biopsy via exploratory laparotomy provided a positive diagnosis in 2 horses. Extensive metastasis to the abdominal and thoracic cavities occurred in all 4 horses.
