Spectroscopic diagnostic of an x-ray laser plasma by use of L-shell spectra

Abstract

The x-ray spectrum in the range of Ne-like selenium resonance lines coming from a soft x-ray laser plasma has been used to make a spectroscopic diagnostic of the plasma. We performed a modelization of the emission. Computing intensity ratios of Ne-like resonance lines and Na-like satellite lines, plasma parameters (density and temperature) have been obtained. The temperature deduced from the model is found to be lower than expected in hydrodynamical calculations from other authors.
