Abstract

A new and simple method fo beam transport and control has been discussed. Experimental results are in qualitative agreement with simulations which show effective focusing and damping of a transversely displaced electron beam. The technique promises to be of significant benefit in reducing the amplitudes of various accelerator instabilities and undesirable transverse beam offsets.
