Abstract

1. 1. Data are presented which supports the hypothesis that although soluble protein subunits from various anatomical regions of lobster nervous tissue are electrophoretically similar, their combination in protein synthesis varies which could account for the observed regional specificity of protein. 2. 2. Autoradiography revealed the Schwann cell covering to be quite active metabolically. 3. 3. Incorporation rates for several individual proteins were determined.
