Abstract
A case of a perinephric abscess secondary to a ruptured retroappendiceal appendix was diagnosed preoperatively by computerized tomography of the abdomen. The radiologic anatomy of the retroperitoneum is reviewed along with a discussion of the origin of perinephric abscesses and the complication of acute appendicitis.
