Abstract

Obstetric emergencies are the most frightening situations that an anesthesiologist will encounter. The most commonly encountered emergencies involve management of the airway, the obese parturient, obstetric hemorrhage, and fetal distress. Also, the role of the anesthesiologist in neonatal resuscitation is addressed.
