Neuropathic incontinence due to an incompetent outlet

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

Management of incontinence due to an incompetent outlet in neuropathic patients depends on the overall neurologic status of the patient and the type of vesico-urethral dysfunction encountered. Several techniques are available to enhance urethral function and their particular indications and the techniques themselves will be discussed. In some situations, rehabilitation of continence via the urethra may be inappropriate and techniques available for suprapubic diversion will be described.
