Abstract

To the Editor: I have followed with great interest and considerable personal feeling the discussion on reprint requests generated by Dr. Jan Koch-Weser's heartfelt outburst. My concern was sharpened by the facts that last year I retired, and a small article of mine on pertussis was published just at that time in the Practitioner, a journal that I thought was not widely circulated outside the British Isles, so that my reprint order was quite small. More to my chagrin than pleasure, reprint requests poured in by the hordes, from all over the world — the United States, Eastern-bloc. . .
