Abstract
Hanging on by a thread: RNA-binding macrocyclic helix-threading peptides were synthesized by solid-phase ring-closing metathesis. The cyclic peptide shows improved affinity to a target RNA over its linear precursor. This compound also binds a naturally occurring precursor microRNA target and may be valuable for regulating microRNA function. (Chemical Equation Presented).
