Abstract
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a prevalent and highly debilitating psychiatric condition that affects many young adults worldwide. This brief review summarizes the current available data about the use of ketamine as a treatment for MDD. We describe pharmacological mechanisms, dose considerations, drug interactions, side effects, and the relevancy of ketamine in the treatment of MDD.
