Abstract
The hisG and hisD genes of the histidine biosynthesis operon of Klebsiella pneumoniae have been cloned in pBR322 and identified by complementation analysis in K. pneumoniae and E. coli. DNA sequence analysis suggests that the genes are functionally expressed in the absence of their complete regulatory sequences.
