Abstract

Analysis of the oxygenated products generated from docosahexaenoic acid by trout gill tissue and reinterpretation of the mass spectrum of the proposed novel protanoid indicate that the compounds identified as n-3 prostaglandins are trihydroxylated derivatives of the precursor polyunsaturated fatty acids.
