Although most patients desiring esthetic rejuvenation of the upper face need blepharoplasty with or without browlift procedures, some patients need contouring of the orbit to achieve an improved appearance (Fig. 13A, B). The facial plastic surgeon must evaluate each patient carefully and recognize the patient with prominent supraorbital rims and forehead. Performance of the browlift in the patient with deepset globes may accentuate the hollow-eyed appearance. When performed properly, orbital contouring can significantly improve the periorbital appearance in patients with prominent bony orbital rims.
