It is demonstrated that the cytotoxic activity of an anti theta serum resides almost completely in the γM fraction. The antiserum titer giving 50% cytotoxicity was almost 1:1,024, whereas it was not quite 1:1 for the γG fraction. This suggested that the γM fraction was approximately 1,000 times as cytotoxic. However, the fluorescent studies did not show as great a difference. The γM fraction had a fluorescent titer of 1:16, whereas the titer of the γG fraction was 1:2. Since there was only an 8 fold difference in fluorescent titer but more than a 1,000 fold difference in cytotoxic titer, it appeared that γM anti theta was considerably more efficient than γG anti theta in effecting cytotoxicity.
