Abstract

I compare two techniques for label-free detection of biomolecular reactions on solid supports in microarray format. I show that the oblique-incidence reflectivity difference (OI-RD), when operated near the Brewster angle, is as sensitivity as the surface plasmon resonance technique. The OI-RD technique is more versatile and promises higher throughputs.
