Abstract
Multidisciplinary care is necessary in the care of the cleft lip/palate patient. Knowledge of the embryology and anatomy aids in surgical planning and comprehension of cleft lip/palate surgical techniques for repair. Assessment of the cleft lip/palate patient includes ability to feed, audiologic, otologic, genetic, and speech assessment in addition to assessment of the anatomic defect. The Millard approach is the basis for our cleft unilateral lip and bilateral cleft lip repair.
