Abstract
A second-generation biosensor for on-line measurement of bovine progesterone was designed and tested. The objectives were to (1) develop an improved version of the assay and sensor capable of measuring progesterone in milk at follicular phase concentrations in real-time, and (2) evaluate the potential for the sensor to detect ovulatory events compared with standard estrus detection methods.
