Abstract

Pancreatic disease is a significant healthcare problem in the elderly. This article focuses on the normal physiology of aging in the pancreas and the etiology of pancreatitis. Early diagnosis, optimal early supportive care, and appropriately timed aggressive surgical treatment are important factors in overcoming pancreatic disease and avoiding complications.
