Abstract
In a retrospective study of 43 cases seen over a period of 14 years, the authors grouped cases according to problem or disease type : Meningitis (16 cases), listeriosis (11), lymphosarcoma (6), polioencephalomalacia (4), trauma (3), viral infection and inflammation (3). The authors also determined, for each type, the characteristic cytological parameters. The importance of doing a bacterial analysis of the CSF and measuring the CSF glucose level (glycorrhachia) is debatable (3 tables, 18 references).
