Acute Infection with Hepatitis C Virus Can Cause Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

We describe a case of acute hepatitis C virus infection presenting with dilated cardiomyopathy. Because recent evidence suggests that treatment during the acute phase of the illness may have significantly better prognosis, patients who present with dilated cardiomyopathy should be evaluated for hepatitis C virus infection.
